Cable bay

Advice on cable bay please can you fish there high to low or low to high or any time and what's the best bait for the ray and can you get mackerel there to thanks

I fished it a few times earlier this year at all states of tide with no noticeable difference in feeding patterns. However, conditions did appear to have a bearing on catch rates. I fished it twice during calm sunny weather and did well on the rays and had a couple of decent sized huss. I then fished it twice with a bit of a swell running and merely had dogs, whiting and small pollack.

Bait wise we took the rays on sandeel/squid wraps, bluey and mack. Mackerel have seemingly been a bit patchy this year so while you're not necessarily guaranteed to hit into them there's a much chance of taking them there than any other rock mark.

Oh and if you fish into darkness be prepared to get busy with the doggies!

Blue and sandeel cocktails you want. That's my choice of bait. You can fish both high and low water but most of my main catches have been right from low up to high. Hope this helps
