I know the forecasts are a waste of space for anything longer than 3 days,but it`s looking like a week of flat seas,on the east coast, leading up to Sunday 18th ....high water 7am,so it`ll be an insomniacs road trip,leaving at 1am to fish 4am til 8.30am....cod traps set.

Good luck Kev, I am over on the East coast tomorrow, somewhere below With as its only a small tide, been a few mops caught this week so always a chance... not fishing the euro, but have a mate that is. I cant be bothered with the wacky races back to the weigh in , been there, done that.

With the catches that have been recorded in the past month I think it will be a very well attended match this year, not for me though, with such a big event there is always a more than even chance of some unscrupulous person giving himself and "edge" , big money encourages some to take risks.

The local lads will probably have it sewn up though, local knowledge is the key.

Been some good thornies out at Brid,and the Daiwa was won with one from there.....something to think about if the swells have pushed the cod out

Turned up at Out Newton this morning, helluva sea running, coming from north east, thought only place that may have had a bit of shelter would be With south , so went there, helluva sea running

Coast unfishable so went to Paul cranches, where another couple of local anglers were fishing, speaking to them they had driven up and down the coast a bit earlier looking as well, and ended up with same thoughts as me,river was looking Ok, but the fish werent playing for anybody.

Should fish its pants off when the sea flattens off .Anybody who hits it right should be OK for bagging up.

So another 200 mile round trip wasted , should have stayed in bed .

we have all done it and been caught out by the weather north east winds up there can be challenging
lookly they will be turning around by friday but still remains quite breezy
on my way up there today sure i will be facing a few challenges but that's fishing
