Inland Sea / Cymyran Straits

Help I’m thinking of giving the Inland Sea / Cymyran Straits next week fishing daylight into the darkness. Seeing what I can pick up in the daylight then hoping for a Conger after dark





Maybe fishing Monday 2hrs either side of Low any info would be appreciated? Has anybody ever fished it I’ve not seen any reports?

Don`t know about winter,but hounds come off the wall during summer and bass....spinning/plugging is popular either side of low water from the beach in to the channel carved out by the shute.

Over low water you're better fishing the seaward side as the flow under the road will just drag your tackle away with it, inland side also has a lot of weed so expect tackle losses, over high ,once the tide is running into the inland sea you are okay fishing where you've drawn the matchstick man, not fished inland sea side for years used to fish it for conger with my dad(over 30 years ago before the new A55 was built), also had bass, wrasse flatties and mullet, seatrout also run through in the spring but you need a licence for them. Fished a few nights on the seaward side a few hrs either side of high during the summer last year had bass, flounders, dogs, smoothies. I prefer fishing the rock marks on the island but my son had never caught a smoothie so we tried the embankment with great success (take dropnet).

Not fished it for conger mate seems like hard graft as its not very comfortable

The spot you plan on fishing fishes well for coalies and some pig Pollock there and in the Summer is crawling with Gars, I like the cob for the Smoothhound.
