Hall road or Formby?

Looking to get out sunday early doors, I have the dilemma of Formby low 5.08am 1.71mtr high 11am 27ft which has the better gullies so chance of smoothound and bass BUT the beach gets very busy which isn't ideal! Or hall Rd coastguard Station end which isn't as popular ending up on the bricks towards the alt, 5.23am low 1.71 mtr but as there is no gullies at Hall Road the tides races in?, high is 11am and 27ft but a better chance of a silver at Hall Rd with the west/south westerlies:think: , I'd be grateful of any suggestions , anyone free to fish those times is free to join me, I'll prob be using frozen worm and peeler but will be taking my pump to hopefully get some blow whilst I'm there to use as well

I`ve pretty much given up on Formby,fishing from low water anyway,with far too much fishing on the move,plus it`s many years since i`ve had anything of a decent size from there...i`ll be doing Hall rd from near the far groyne on Sat night with fresh blow,so i`ll report when i get back.

Good luck kev, hope you land something worthy of a pic, I'm confident for you fishing in darkness to land a decent silver ,. I've decided to fish Victoria Rd as the 1.71 mtr low in the morning won't get me over the retaining wall were the groyne ends at Hall Rd, just hope the weather isn't nice to keep the hoards away

Crabs were stripping the baits all night which is something I've never known there...snared an eel to avoid the blank....conditions were very good but that's fishing

An eel is better than nothing . Did you fish off the bricks down by the breakwater ? The crabs and shrimps seem to come out of the mud there. Also had tiny whiting shredding the baits there at this time of year

Yeah about 70 yds from the breaky....fished there last time and had no probs

Best of luck down there, I fished 3 up across the beach and 1 down on the bricks and never got a single bite.
Night shift must be the way to go.

Very slow last night, had a small soul which is a first for me and also saved a blank!, bit of a mystery that no bass are showing

I Fished the last set of big tides at Hall rd.
Loads of rods out not much caught. Seen 1 bass caught over the 3 days. I've not know the bass to drop off so quickly at Hall rd. Usually this time of year your nail on to catch...
