Never fished Crosby beach near radar station before. Me and a couple mates thinking of giving it a go down to low water (7.2m high) on saturday. Any tips or pointers from anyone whose fished there before? Is it worth having a go there for the bass/cod or rays ? Any particular baits and rigs work well?

Any help at all would be appreciated.

It's best fishing there with tides of 8.5m and over really or your only fishing in a couple of feet of water due to the sand Bank your casting on.
Black or blow always the best bait there.
It'carp(anag) and miss but always the chance of a decent bass from April to end of October. If u want to fish on a smaller tide towards Crosby baths bit better.

It's not worth fishing it down the beach is to flat but you can fish the low water there but again bigger tides are better as you can get on the rock wall and fish into the deep Channel.

WHen you say baths, do you mean hall road promenade over high water?

Yes only fish the bigger tides(8.5m +) at Hall rd the water comes up a few steps so you'll be fishing on the prom.
On the smaller tides fish more towards Crosby swimming baths ( about half a mile from hall Rd) you'll be fishing on the beach. And it's free parking there

Yeah nice one mate, had a look before. Seems like the baths is better on the smaller tides. Assume thats low tide venue aswell?

Got to be aware of the soft mud out on the low water area from the baths.....
