Anglesey species hunt

Met Dave Radcliffe at pensarn and made our way to Anglesey for a species hunt.
First stop first bend outside of the breakwater hoping for a cuckoo wrasse unfortunately none appeared but we had a brisk start with numerous Ballons and corkwings at all distances and Dave getting a bonus well marked 3 bearded rockling about 43cm . lovely day and really warm .
Next stop mcdonalds and onto doch bach quick half hour produced a small pollock.
Next stop the main event ty croes
baited feathers on lure rod first cast and a nice tub gurnard for me followed on consecutive casts by more tubs and a hoped for grey gurnard alas no reds.
The big rods produced dabs then dave hit into mackerel close in while retrieving it i also hit mackerel on retrieve right under our feet good sport and good sizes .
The dogs arrived and the gurnards got pushed out on the baited feathers however i took a whiting and more mackerel until a decent bite about 30 yds out on the same rig produced a good bend and fight resulting in a 5LB 10 oz thornback on the SG 2 lure rod
The tide had dropped out by now and the rays began to feed Dave adding a nice thorny of 6LB 1 oz more dabs mackerel and dogs followed then on my last cast another ray about 4lb .
WE finished with 12 species could of probably got a few more minis with smaller sabikis but well happy with the day bites pretty much every cast hectic really .
One of those days when it all comes together.
