What do we do?

Post by Local/Brian »

I have just tried to upload a fishing post from my last night session

But the picture hosting app imgBB has a very short limit before you need to register and pay / But I cant seem to do this.

It would seem nothing as regards app free picture hosting is workable ??????? .

So were dose that leave things ? I don't like reading fishing posts without picture showing things in the post . Don't know how others feel about this?

Some questions if others could give their input please.
Has anyone got a good long lasting uk based picture hosting app.

I have also heard that the WSF has a facebook page / is this still active and being used if so . What do people on here think about just using that WSF platform and moving across from here ??????????????

I was once involved with a facbook fishing page and set it up like this WSF forum with different sections for talk / fishing sessions / venues and so on
so things can be made to have a forum look setup and not just a random post look to it..

Or only other thing that can be done is people that post on here add a video link that could be a full video or just a slide show of pictures .
instead of putting up pictures and all it's problems using hosting apps .

Cheers Brian  .

Hi Brian,

Sign of the times I think. Sadly, sites like this are used less and less, resulting in all the ancillary stuff like image hosting becoming obsolete.

I don’t think the WSF Facebook group is active at all, at least if it is I’m looking in the wrong place. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s an easy answer - whilst Facebook, YouTube etc have loads of content and engagement, for me it’s just not the same as a dedicated forum, not least because of all the ads and distractions.

It’ll be a shame if this site falls by the wayside and I applaud your efforts to stop that, however I’m not hopeful.

BTW hope over experience took me to Tyn Tywyn again last night for the whole flood - sweet FA! - nice night to be out though.

Cheers

Sign of the times ?.
The internet has improved a massive amount of things ? But also done a lot of damage to things and changed people  .

Knower day's every body want's FAME and CONSIDER them-selves the best angler out there. A lot of members that have been on this site have moved off onto other things in search of FAME and STARDOM like Facebook / YouTube / and other platforms

I am only on YouTube and see load's of channels start up and do well but then slow or just stop . Because they either run out of other peoples
information or knowledge or they go through a period of not catching .

As for this Wirral Sea Fishing Forum .
The only way this will survive and keep going is with a solid core of members that use the forum for what it is / Post your sea fishing sessions without being am the best angler out there and know it all / Give other angler's credit for their fishing sessions and help or give advice if they ask for it .

The site is still getting large views from Guest's but no interaction  / But here is a thing if you look back on post's and click other peoples profiles it will tell you when they were last active     .
It's amazing how many of them are still visiting the site and obviously looking and reading post .

As for free picture hosting there is still some around or you could pay a small amount each month / But if the site has no activity then no one would be will to do such a thing without interaction from other's .

I have also said time and time again the real knowledge in sea fishing is not on google  .
Fish need a reason to come inshore close enough for us anglers to catch them ??? and if you don't understand or have the knowledge of this then your odds of catching fish on a regular basics will be just down to sheer luck.

An example of this is you mention you fished Tyn-Tywyn again with no luck That beach like other's in that area is surrounded by a shallow reef and rock formations extending out seawards ? / And this is what I mean by fish needing a reason or certain condition to bring them close enough inshore for us to catch them. You can see what am going on about here in this Bing Map link . https://www.bing.com/maps/?cp=53.216377 ... .0&style=h

As for what happens with this site is in the hand's of other's :help: :help: :help:

Right then with another post getting a good amount of view's / But little interaction again  .

This is becoming very clear that either I am talking nonsenses or others are just simply not interested .
What ever the reason I have done my bit trying what I can to help Wirral sea fishing .

But am not willing to keep wasting my time SO I WISH this WSF forum all the best and hope it dose keep going.

Nothing or anyone can stop me from enjoying my own pleasure sea fishing and I will just keep doing this in my own style and way . By fishing and videoing it for me and other to watch / But I will stay out of touch by not having others able to contact me .

BIG THANKS TOO THE FEW THAT DID HELP. and as said I genuinely hope things turn out well for both this site and it's members.

Cheers Brian  . WHAT A SHAME.

No Dly everything is ok with me anyway
I have said since I came back on this site / if it get's no activity then other won't come back or bother either ?
Plus I said from the start I have no intention of this sea fishing forum becoming the Brian site . if other don't post or a least reply on things then I won't either .

Hence the latest post off me ? / other people had put post up so I included my last 2 sessions in a post .
But if it goes quiet again and their is no activity then i won't post anything I do till others do their bit .

Can only say it as I find it.

Cheers Brian

Morning Dly . This is not directed at yourself it's just something that's risen from countless things that go on.
I had not left just wating for some other activity apart from me on this site.

As for the phone yes your spot on I had blocked things sorry again . Not just you but every thing involving sea fishing .
Nothing about having other sea fishing people in my phone turns out worth having for me ? I hardly hear from anyone / people talk about something and do the complete opposite sadly to say / I don't need this?.

So have blocked everything and gone through my phone and deleted all sea fishing contacts and contacts in message app's .

I Am just doing my pleasure fishing and enjoying it without any sort of distraction .
Others have no way of contacting me across my Phone / YouTube / This site's private message.
The only place people can contact me is here in a post ? might help the site a bit
Me just enjoying my sea fishing is more important than mixing with others that are very fickle.

Sorry Brian.

Hi Brian,
You can store up to 5 GB on Microsoft One drive for free and you can use it to share pictures.
Once you have uploaded your picture to "your files" on there you then go to the 4 dots in a row next to the file name, left click that and it gives a drop down menu which includes "copy link" but also "Embed". With the latter you can get the code to embed it into a web page or blog. So maybe worth giving that a try.
Cheers
Tim
