Met Brian at the Clown at 08.50 the weather was a bit naff, overcast and blowing a bit from the west. We set up and crossed the abyss at about 09.30. We walked to the black buoy baited up and cast out peeler with loads of anticipation. The sea was noticeably choppier than it has been with little tidal flow which might account for the fact that we never hit any smoothies or rays. The usual dabs put in an appearance as did a couple of codling, so the cheque book and pens where off at least. I’m hoping for another go on Wednesday if anybody’s up for it. You’ve got to in be to win.
