That's the Fishing Maniacs Match no.2 held at Rosemary Wood Fishery.
14 anglers joined the match from 9am-2pm!

The weather was quite nice, but sitll fishing was on the slow side today.
Danny on the right side had 16lb 2oz to frame, I got 21lb 4oz to came 2nd, Smudge in the middle was the winner, he managed 23lb 3oz.

I got 25quid, just enough to cover my feeder rod combo and 5quid pool!


I was quite suprised that caught the majority of fish on the feeder which I just take up. But next time I'll make sure I have enough sleep, tiredness really killed my match.

Our Mathew was a bit unlucky, lost a few good fish or he would be framed.

if you used long pole tactics which you're good you might frame dave. Mathew told me Smudge mainly used pole and target smaller fish to add up the weight.

he did, but recently the best catches have been coming to pellet fished up in the water with a splashing wag, i thought the rocket feeder with pellets sprayed over the top would be ideal.....shame nobody told the fish of my great plan, never had a touch on it or the wag, i spoke to one of the lads who had fished the open on island lake (again only 20lb ish won it) and he says wags/rockets normally fishes well as they feed the fish every other day with 8-10 mm pellets and they just home in on the bait

it fished much better later on in the day, carp every chuck best was about 8lb

Nah..give me a canal with barges one a chuck,thats real fishing.It takes real skill to knock a couple of pounds out and it feels like you've achieved something.
