We decided to go piking and make a full weekend of it trying 2 places ive heard are good
got to canal road at about 8 oclock saturday morning to fish the bridgey spent a couple of hours spinning, plugging and wobbling dead bait couldnt get a floated or ledgered dead bait in to many effin rowing boats so we went to maccies and decided to find out where kellogs was and give behind there a try
Next day southport was the venue chosen arrived about half 8 nothing doing on plus spinners wobbled dead ledgered dead on the sluice spoke to the bailiff he said a lad had a few on the back drain a few days earlier so we moved over the road towards the green bridge and fished the back drain (just after the long thing of rushes first cast ledgered roach filled with pilchard oil rod tip starts to twitch but didnt set the alarm off or take line so i took a chance and hit it huge swirl an a splash ray my mate jumps up to see what it was an said yer deffo a pike dude so got it in only just under 4 pound quick picture and back in nothing else all day left at quater past 4
few others there 2 people we spoke to had a couple of pike biggest 8 n a half just after the green bridge

im just glad i got out caught my first pike and had a laugh
