impact shields

hi guys, i was fishing last week but had trouble with baits sliding up line i was using bait elastic but the prsentation was poor, does a impact shield make any difference to the presentation of bait or are there any other techniques i could use for better presentation

just above the hook i double the line through a small piece of rig tubing and put a sequin infront of it on the baited hook side this works for me

Impact shield`s certainly wont hurt.....the good thing about them is they release every time unlike one or two others on the market. You need some sort of bait stop if you`re using clipped down rigs....the force imparted on the bait during the cast will cause it to ride up the line otherwise.

yeah then imps are the dogs gonads

tip for putting the wire clip throught the plastic hook.
grip the wire clip in a vice and use a pair of pliers to open the tail end so you can slot the plastic hook onto the clip

if you havent got a vice then you'll strugle

i use a lead tail to open the gap slide,s on perfect

double the line through(causes friction =heat) that weakens your hook length

just a tip if you get that biggy from a big pull up from the sea

imps dont bulk out your rig wallet too like impact thingie me bobs

make 20 rigs up and you'll need a suit case

20 rigs with imps fit in 1 of them tiny bass mustad wallets

that fall to bit's when they go near salt water

wouldnt know still cant find mine

it must be rusty now though
