There`s a lot of good South Wales marks,so a few days away will give you the chance to explore them.Ogmore consists of a series of rock ledges leading on to broken ,then clean ground,and as such,attracts a variety of species.
Spring/summer see ray,dogs,conger and bass.From September to Feb` it`s whiting and cod,with some big fish taken every year.
Tackle/Bait....The best time to fish is about 3 hours either side of high water on a medium to spring tide.Avoid the mark when there is an onshore wind or swell
A moderate cast is often enough to put a bait among the fish.Leads of 5oz/6oz will be needed to hold bottom,and standard beach rigs will work well.
How To Get There....Leave the M4 at junction 36 and follow the signs for Bridgend.When you reach Bridgend,you will see Ogmore signposted
The Deeps start at Southerndown running west towards the mouth of the river Ogmore.Park in the car park on the coastal road,and the fishing ledges are a short walk down a grassy bank
