Formby Plugging

Really want to get into plugging more this year, my little collection of wooden fish is growing rapidly.

I was wondering if anyone had had any success plugging on Formby beach or is the water never clear enough?

Any other spots for a short afternoon session?

Often thought it would be worth giving leasowe channel a try - though its pretty mucky especially on the big tides.

had my only bass on a lure( rapalax rap 8 in silver with brown back) from leasowe channel last year but only a schoolie and you have only a small period of time where you can get the plugs to work right there (except poppers )due to the speed of the tide, but i reckon formby would be worth trying you don't seem to hear of much plugging over a plain sandy seabed usually done by rougher/mixed ground

Oh it will be tried Not spending all this money on japanese lures for nothing!

Further afield I was thinking Newborough and Dinas and I'll be off to the LLeyn in summer so hopefully I'll bag a spiny one somewhere. It would be great if there was something a little closer (St. Helens) to nip to for the afternoon though. I suppose it won't hurt my technique even if I consistently blank at formby.

llenyn is the place to be for spinning/bass/pollock/wrasse yes wrasse .

menia straight in the left gully is good too clear as Chrystal you can see them
