first of all, hello all. this is my first post though i've been looking at the site for a while now and have got all manner of really useful information from it since moving back to Liverpool in August, so thanks for that.
couple of questions:
1) i thought otterspool (pump house area, my local spot) fished best at high and i've been taking some nice whiting from there recently but i was chatting to a very helpful bloke from this site tuther day who was fishing it at low, assured me this was the best time to take cod. true or not?
2) does formby fish well for flatties in winter? i assume that fishing the tide up from low, casting in to the gullies as they fill will be the best bet using light tackle. should i just head down Lifeboat Road and keep going till i get to the sea?

hi mucky and welcome.otterspool can fish both tides.ive allway preferd a medium high tide .but its a good mark for both tides try both and see what produces better.it will give you a general idea of what tide you feel happy with

otterspoole as been producing the bigger codling at low
formby has its flatfish in winter also the odd bass in the gullies
if you never been go low water take walk and pick your gullies you find best for you waders advantage here
