Have thought you used your headlamp to aid focus, but the light was quite even...

That would be the flash ? The autofocus only needs to get an assist for the distance ...

I tried to use headlamp to aid focus, somtimes work but the color temperature is not good.

So I have to I half-press to focus, another hand off the light, then fully press the shutter.. Even my lamp got 21led, but honestly not so bright. May get a 3 Watt luxeon head lamp soon!

there are two main gullys that run along the beach (depending on were you are on the prom), one is a nice easy lob, only about 40-50 yards out( and were i was it had a nice 6 foot marker(statue ) standing right in it so i could aim for it) and one a lot further out about 100-120 yards out, this takes a good cast especially if your casting into the wind

Am aiming for a Wednesday night session at New Brighton. The only place I've fished there is near a slipway (with Perch Rock lighthouse about half mile over to my right ) Is this still a good area ?

Cheers for that. After three months hard practice I`ve finally broken my 50 yard casting limit. I can do 51 yards now

Geography not my strong point as I dont know where Wallasey ends and New Brighton starts. I'll be on a double slipway about half mile to the left (looking out to sea) of Perch lighthouse.

Aiming to fish from about 3 hours before high water ( 01:42?) then see how long bait/enthusiasm/coffee lasts

Besides, I can fish for 5 hours and still want to carry on which is more than can be said for the other pastime on offer

thanks for the info (didnt know it was a summer mark so will keep that in mind for when the crabs invade North Wales)

Hope you have a good session Ray. Afraid I won`t be there after all, car needs screwing and the wife needs a service. Or summat like that.
Hoping to go for lug in the morning and maybe do some low tide in the evening. Depends on the boss.
