A bit late

I am fishing perch rock tomorrow lw at 12:30. I have fished perch rock a few times with little sucess and i put it down to one thing distance. So my question is how far do i need to cast to put me on the rays and whiteing and dabs?

The tide pull here can be strong and you will need a selection of leads. A moderate cast will put you in deep water but it is also worth just lobbing in 20 to 30 yds. During winter when the whiting are in you can expect frantic sport approx 2 hours before low and 1 hour into the flood."


Guess 80-100 yrd is a moderate cast by most peoples standards?

haha i bet you would like to see a 100yrd chuck with my level wind multi as the thred has gone on bolt on my 6500 mag

I think the tide is too small for perch mate.

Distance is only an issue early on,if you ask me.....on a spring tide you will be in the channel in the last hour of the ebb even with a gentle lob...no-one catches every time Jack,even Millsy

tide is carp jack, you need the bigger tides for perch rock

And go equiped for combat casting when they come
