Winter fishing:
.Codling 1.5-3.5lb
.The odd flounder
.Occasional dab
.whitening
Summer fishing:
.eels
.sole
.dabs
.flounders
The best baits in the winter are frozen black and squid but crab can be good as the sport slackens off in January and February.
If you are just scratching a 2 hook flapper is the best with 1/0 hook so if you do get a coddie then the chances of getting it it are much higher.
If you are fishing just for a coddie then a single hook pully is best.
You can fish off the big jetty which produces the most off the catches.

To get to the jetty from Liverpool...
