Match Report- 4th round of N.W.A.S.A.C. Summer League, Sun10.7.11, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool (42 rods).


The fish seemed reluctant to feed on an uncharacteristically poor day on this popular promenade venue, with fewer small eels and no rays. With eels subject to a token length, it was Ian Griffiths’ 20 cms sea scorpion that took the roundfish pool!
On-form Wallasey matchman, Steve Crowder, drew end peg 48 at the favoured seaward end and recorded a measure and release total of 330 cms of flounders and eels for the win.
Blackpool’s Ashley Sampson continued his remarkable run of success in this league; his second in zone added to three previous zone wins means that he cannot now be beaten. The final round will be fished on the opposite side of the Mersey Estuary at Bromborough on August 14th.
