Match Report: 1st N.W.A.S.A.C. Summer League Match 2012, Sun 15.4.12, Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool (51 rods).

The new league made a promising start with a bumper attendance and a variety of fish including flounders to 39 cms, eels, codling, whiting, rockling and thornback rays at Merseyside’s top match venue.
Exceeding expectations, the upriver Zone A fished well. Ged Stevens drew peg 1 and made the long drive from Barrow worthwhile with a winning measure and release total of 498 cms.
A few early season rays showed towards high water with Simon Dawber’s specimen of 79 cms requiring a drop net to assist in landing it.

Results:
1. Ged Stevens (Barrow-in-Furness), 498 cms.
2. Lee Mackereth (Millom), 468 cms.
3. Ashley Sampson (Fleetwood), 446 cms.

Zone A: John S. Williams (Prenton), 407 cms.
Zone B: Ian Griffiths (Eastham), 297 cms.
Zone C: Paul Molyneux (Aintree), 364 cms.
Zone D: Joe Perry (Litherland), 440 cms.

Roundfish Pool: Simon Dawber (Wigan), thornback ray 79 cms.
