BLACK OR BROWN
I am wondering which lug worms anglers prefere I have found that the locals prefer medium-large sized brown lug worms I prefer blacks (large) as I mostly fish pulley pennel rigs so A large worm on the pennel gives A cracking presentation which do you prefer

Most fish have never seen a worm in their lives.Scent is the most important thing so looks or colour count for nowt.IMHO of course.

Often the lug in the area you are fishing is the bait to use...does`nt always apply but sometimes size does`nt matter,thankfully 
winter fishing sucks

My theory,
The bigger the worm the more juice and scent is released for the fish to locate, important in fast flooding tides as it gets washed out quickly.
But not so important on slower waters or at Low water when the flow is less.
I speak mainly when the water clearity is low and the target species has less chance of using its primary senses to locate the food.

Bass hunt on sight, smell, and vibration so really depends on knowing your target species abilites and the water they are in, then fish accordingly based on this knowledge.

Or you can look at it this way if you go to a McDonalds restuarant, the people in Mcdonalds are all eating McDonalds Burgers ,right ?, now with your eyes closed and without communicating to anyone, try locating and eating some food, 
, this is what a Cod in the Mersey has to do everytime he's hungry.
By the way Dave Kam can do this no problem.
Damn fancy a BigMac now.
