Vacuum Packer

I made a snap decision today and ordered a vacuum sealer

I'm hoping it keeps my bait fresher in the freezer for longer and it should stop the softer baits from drying out through freezer burn when stored for long periods at £70 it wasn't cheap but I'll be happy when I get my crab (if summer bothers to come) and frozen black out next cod season and its still in prime condition

Anyone else wasted there money on one of these?

I got one from Lidl a while ago and use it for crab , mackeral fillets and also food items it works fine keeping stuff in better condition than wrapping it in cling film

I didn't see the point in getting a proper cheap one and this seller had sold 280 of them and still had good feedback so they cant be that bad

Im looking forward to using it, might do a comparison with some crab and see how they turn out 6 months later

I've got one, same make slightly different button layout, works brilliant, stick a cheap plastic straw in a Tesco freezer bag & you dont have to buy the textured vacuum bags either.

I know it's a bit late but only just read it.....alternatively, put your bait in a freezer bag and submerge it in a deep bucket of water,as the water reaches the top of the bag all the air will be forced out due to the pressure of the water, leaving it vacuum sealed...it works even better if you use a stiffer plastic bag

You need to use at least a 100 gauge plastic bag but its better with a 150 or even a 200 gauge because the seal will fail on the lighter gauge stuff very easily.

I know it's a bit late but only just read it.....alternatively, put your bait in a freezer bag and submerge it in a deep bucket of water,as the water reaches the top of the bag all the air will be forced out due to the pressure of the water, leaving it vacuum sealed...it works even better if you use a stiffer plastic bag
