Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice on fishing Stanah? I want to give it a try but dont know where to park or fish from. Best bait is crab for Flounders I take it? What rigs?

I haven't got Scoobie Do where Stanah is either however i can confirm that this is not a welsh mark so nowhere near araf, gwasaneathau or traeth!

Stanah is indeed on the River Wyre.
Its between Fleetwood and Shard Bridge.

Right Marc here we go Stanah is near to the ICI works on the river Wyre, I have fished a few matches there in the past. You park up in Stanah Car Park ( it used to be free ) and take a walk across the marsh grass, you will see pathways through it. I fished to the right of the high electric pylons (can't miss them) towards the bend in the river, though where you fish is your choice
It is best fished over low water, two hours either side is fine. Bait, has got to be peeler crab this time of year, blackworm is worth a try. You should catch Flounder & Eel. There are some very large Mullet in this stretch of the river, catching them is something else. You will need welly's at a minimum (sticky mud). 2 hook flapper rigs with size 2 hooks are just fine. Take leads up to 6oz and use plain lead at slack water and twitch your baits ( It Works ! )....Have a good day
