Can you fish Liverpool docks, not the River Mersey?

This might sound stupid but can you fish the docks around the Liverpool echo arena, not the river Mersey?

Have heard of big eels in these waters but wonder if there is other species in them too.

Has anybody got any tips or advice about how to and where to fish, and what rigs and baits to use.

Be handy when the wife and kids are attending the Arena or at low tides when I have only got an hour or two to spare.

Species--- Bass,ray,smoothhound,starry smoothhound,plaice,flounder,dab,LSD,huss,whiting,coddling,mackeral,pout,pollock.
