Fairy Lipsquid

As I am new to pumping worms I have watched Big Kev,and Svenbrens video a hundred times, drummed it into my head and know all I need is the practice now.
I realise I will get more practice in the summer months so I'm looking forward to that. Its a bit hard at the moment due to the tides.
The thing I have a problem with is the fairy liquid, Some people are telling me to use it neat, some are telling me 50/50 with water and some just a bit of water. So now i,m confused .
I've made a jig and moulded my own silicone washers for the Alvey long slim pump and the suction is great , so no problem there.
I have looked through the bait section posts but can,t find any reference to lubricating the pump and the fairy lipsquid.
So I was wondering what BigKev and you lads use, after all it works great in the video.
Once I get that right, I know all the tackle is right and then it's down to me.

Neat or slightly watered down washing up liquid will both help to lubricate your pump and make it easier on the arms. I use the cheapest I can find which is usually slighty thinner than the likes of Fairy and so I don't bother watering it down.

I've tried it both ways and as godders said try the cheap stuff it works ok and if you can flush it out with water now & again to get rid of sand every 1 has different ways

You can also use cooking oil if you dont like soap

I usually use it neat but had to resort to adding a bit of spit in the top vent the other day!

I would go with the majority, fairy liquid 3/4 full and fill the rest with water, tried cooking oil when I first got a pump a few years back for me personally it didn't work, found the washers got very gloopy and disintegrated, I would also consider the dog ball option found it almost lubricates itself once you start pumping

Now I know the tackle is right it gives me a bit of confidence.

I bought fairy liquid about £2 odd , then the other day I spotted Morrisons own brand 500 mil bottles for 31p each and it looks good, so I got 10 and put them in the shed, good strong plastic as well wont split.

I just wanted to butt in and say: guys, I gave in and ordered an Alvey long slim line pump! I hope that was the one I was supposed to order cause I dished out £50 quid for it. I really hope I get to use it someday, maybe Friday morning or something? If not, not to worry I bought an electric guitar when I was 20 and I still cannot play it. Szabs, If you got the long slim Alvey pump for £50 you got your self a VERY good deal,
The best thing about this site is the lads put you right straight away and save you money with top info,
I paid £59.99 and that was a good price, and it is worth every penny. and if you get fed up with it, you will get most of your money back if you sell it. due to the fact it is the long slim one.
So good luck with it mate.

Well, I ordered it from Summerland Tackle online, paid via PayPal so I really hope i'll get what I ordered. If not I can still dispute it and get my money back. I looked everywhere and that was the cheapest I've found. I'm just gonna have to team up with you guys sometime when I'm off and there is a low tide and pump some bait.
