Thurstaston and Caldy

I am completely new to sea fishing well to be honest I'm new to fishing full stop. I am a regular visitor to Wirral Country Park caravan site which is very close to the beach/rocks at Thurstaston and Caldy. Is it worth fishing there? and what fish on what rigs are likely to be caught there. All help gratefully received

Caldy is known for its flounder and plaice.It sometimes throws up the odd bass.Small whiting show over the winter months.At Thurstaston follow the cliff path to the left till you come to a set of wooden stairs down to the beach.That is the mark I fish.A 2 hook flapper will work at both marks.2 hours before high water will be fine.Big tides will push you up on to the rocks at Caldy.Lug or rag tipped with small bits of mack or squid should get you fish.Peeler crab if can get it works well from early spring through the rest of the year.
