Seems to be few anglers posting on their intended sessions....i can understand it for certain marks but for the majority of places it makes no odds how many are there....i thought sea anglers were very sociable but it appears not....rant over,crack on

Coarse fishing (especially for barbel) is a virtual secret society,but it`s getting more prevalent in sea fishing from what i can see,and i don`t like it...WSF is a shadow of it`s former self

Well said Kev, I think it's the "Look at me, I'm an ace Angler, and you clowns will never be as good as me", do these people put themselves up to prove it at Matches?
Again, rant over, as some of the Rock marks I couldn't get to anyway, but it makes good reading on here.
And to be fair, this awesome forum has taught me loads over the years, well done WSF...

years ago you only got a pic like hey i got a 5lb bass and that was it forums have been great in helping others out with fishing reports
and wirral sea fishing and forums are still the best form for information for tips and hints in helping others out.
but facebook has really gone back to the days of hey i had a 5lb bass and one pic again i dont really blame most out there for not wanting to give certain venues away it does take a lot of time and effort to find and work these marks out.
sometimes i also dont always say where i am but it may be quite clear to someone were i am
then i say get your boots on and get your rods out and go there but in most cases this is to keep some marks clear especially a few rock marks i know but as i say there are no secret marks most are all well known by most
but i always try to help others out in forum posts or videos with rigs and bait and what are the best tides and how to fish for said fish or said venue and what is there and i am always most helpful in sharing any info that may help others out with there fishing or fish they are after.
i think it is ashame most have turned their backs on forums and post every week on facebook but never post on forums the posts on forums last a lot longer and are more helpful in search results forums hold a vast list of catch reports that can be looked back on over time this can be a most useful bit of knowledge so anyway do i think everyone should say were they are all the time no it is up to the individual
and if you can work it out just go there and have a go.

A lot of anglers have gained a lot of knowledge from the forum and it could continue,but what i don`t get is why not post that you`re fishing Vale Park over low, Seaforth Beach,or the Rock Channel e.t.c as i know there`s lads who would like to fish such marks but are very weary of doing so on their own.Petrol sharing is always handy too for going to the likes of the Island...i`m not made of money so i`m glad for someone to share the cost and i`m sure others are in a similar situation.

the whole sea fishing thing has gone down hill for many a decades when i started if you wished to broaden your fishing skills then you had too chat and get to know other anglers and make an effort and go fishing with them in order to improve on your own fishing .

I have quoted this on other things when i was taken under the wing by older anglers. I can remember one of the old guard { not informing me but telling me in a stern manor } WHAT MAKES A GOOD FISHERMAN SOMEONE THAT BRAGES ABOUT A FEW BIG FISH OVER A LONG TIME OR SOMEONE THAT CAN GO OUT AND CATCH FISH ON A REGULAR BASIS .

I honestly think any type of fishing knower days the hardest thing is finding suitable people to fish with / you have leaches for information that don't really want to fish with you they just want as much information as they can get from you?.
And I honestly think this is why many don't post when they are fishing / so as to avoid the above I will hold my hands up and say this is why i don't bother I just arrange fishing sessions over the phone with others.

Then you have the Mr am better than anyone else / and i know it all.? because they have collected from others.

And you have the trophy hunters where the picture or video is more important than the fishing experience it self ?

And you also have the ambulance chasers that just see a catch report or hear of a decent catch and then go chancing someone else's leg work.

The above four in my eyes are just full of the runny brown stuff.?

I have many more poor sessions than good sessions but after 50 odd years of fishing still enjoy it as much now as i did when i started and still trying to improve my fishing and learn new things and will till the day I die .

As regards forums and other thing they get too much for me and I just back right off them ??? / like this forum for instance over the years i have meet up with quite a few members and have to say not a lot I can spend time with for one reason or another also the ones i have meet up with some have really surprised me as on the key board they are tits but stood in front of you face to face are completely different ??????

So Kev we either fish on our own or sieve through the endless bull sh@tters till we find someone we can actually enjoy fishing with.

A top angler will spend a lot of time on venues fishing different size tides / different stages of the tide / different tactics / and have many poor sessions in order to understand the venue and the get the best from it. When he has all of his information and experience he will the hope he starts to be rewarded with better results.

I agree that the forums are not used as much as they used to. as said alot just post on Facebook . If I post a report I always state where and when with as much info as possible , but I always post on this forum first and sometimes only on this forum.
Over the years I have learnt so much from the lads on this forum and if anything I post help's anyone else great because that's how I learnt.
I do understand why some people don't say where they are especially if you have a good catch as there are so many people that read the reports on Facebook then head straight there and the place gets packed.
I have been told about many great places to fish by members on this forum and gained great advice about them especially when we all meet up for matches. The knowledge that some of our members have is is so extensive and in my experience always happy to share and even take you with them to show you marks you don't know. This only happens on forums and the information you gain from this forum is far more reliable than some of the Facebook posts and something else you don't from Facebook is the safety advice that goes with the venue. So the more that actively use the forum the better it is.

This bit extra is mainly for Kev and some others that have mentioned FACEBOOK .
I have been on it and its carp ??? only thing i found it good for was sending pictures or maps with a fishing spot to show others exactly where i am talking about.

I do some videos and if I look in the stats ??? everyone of them I get the most views coming through either Wirral sea fishing or world sea fishing .
Less than 20% come from Facebook or other media sites even google search is poor compared to the 2 w/s/f forums.

As for people posting where and when / think we have all gone too anti social for this too happen / and the vast majority of people now cant be oops with other people they just go fishing in their own little click / so even going back to the fish and meet thing for members of the forums would not work for many reasons .

I always post when/where i`m fishing or bait collecting,but no-one wants to come with me

I think it’s down to a few reasons . Some anglers prefer to fish alone. Forums seem to have a certain lifespan , and original groups of friends and anglers suffer from the usual fallouts , packing in’s , lack of time and change of direction. Facebook , for me , is a good source of info especially on the match scene . A lot of my freelance fishing isn’t decided till quite late on and I usually put something up on our club page
A lot of venues have been rammed out recently which may put lads off posting where they are going.

Ive gained a lot of Info from this forum, and sure a lot of people have. The times are moving on, Wirral sea fishing, has changed a lot over the years, and the new comers who are having a go, are reporting there catches on Facebook, it is so much simpler to upload, and let your adventures get made public, but im all for Wirral sea Fishing, this was the platform, that made Sea fishing so appealing, and still does for me.
