Predominantly a spring/early summer venue,where large flounders are the main target species.The presence of eels will increase as the weather warms,and in autumn/winter you can expect whiting too.Early season fish will be taken on rag or lug baits,often tipped with mack`....from mid April you will find fresh crab takes over as the number one bait.A 2 hook flapper cast 30/40yds in to the channel will catch plenty.Once the initial tide surge is over,you can drop to light leads to help search out the fish.Look to fish tides from 26ft to 30ft from around 2 1/2 hours before high water....big spring tides will breach the bank and flood the grass area.
Getting there....Follow the A548 in to Flint and keep ahead towards Mostyn.After passing the Aber retail park on your left you will come on to a dual carriageway... stay in the outside lane and after 1/4 mile you will see the HSS Tool Hire shop on your right....there are 2 gaps in the central reservation for you to turn in,so don`t worry if the miss the first one...park outside the tool hire shop and walk around the side of the fence.
Here you will see a path which will take you to the sea front...it`s a 10 min stroll,though you`ll have a couple of stiles to cross by the railway lines and another just before you reach the marks....the path can get a bit muddy after recent rain. The banks have eroded quite badly in recent years,but you can still fish from the path.
