Flat calm cold but not uncomfortable.
fresh worm and frozen crab for bait .
slow start with little tide run dyl picked a couple of whiting up.a short while later with a bit more tide a decent bite produced a 38cm codling for me which actually gave a better scrap than the size suggested.
a few more whiting appeared .
suddenly a good bite for me had me into a good fish staying deep with good thumps as it neared it took a bit of line dyl grabbed the net
with thoughts of a big cod and dyl saying its a good fish but then killing me with the words "its a ray"
Landed and weighed at 7lb 9 oz never been so disappointed to catch a ray
flaming january catching rays.an odd whiting followed with dyl losing another possible ray
and me pulling out of something that ripped the rod right round.
good night good company need more cod.
