Myself,Lee,Jeff,Mark,Ste,Stan,Dale and Dyl went in search of cod,fishing 3 down 1 up. Me n Lee tried from furthest to the right of the posse for a change,but it was very quiet for 90 mins and two things were concerning,namely the ground was getting muddier and softer as the tide ebbed,but more concerning was the complete lack of flow. We decided to up sticks and move to the far left near the rocks,on tried and tested ground....sods law we reeled in a dab for me and a 3lb ray for Lee,but moved anyway.Dyl had taken a 68cm ray but it was pretty dead for everyone else....behind the post closer to the rocks had nice firm sand and more importantly a nice bend in the rod,so my hopes were raised.....after an hour we saw commotion further down,and it was Dale with a 53cm codling of 4lb1oz (he later added a ray)...just on low water i dropped one short and not long after the rod was bouncing with a nice 4lb2oz codling being landed....apart from the odd whiting,it was quiet for the others...lovely night to be out,with not a breath of wind.....the plus side of posting your intended fishing sessions,is you get a gang of mates turning up

Yes nice night Kev mud was a pain but good to get out with the lads bit sick I had to leave early but my back was killing me,great to see couple of nice cod and a few rays.

couple decent codling plus rays we hoped for more but thats fishing.
My god that mud i have never known it that bad possibly due to the dredger dumping as the water was full of silt, horrible .
Reminded me of fishing East Halton on the humber.

Cod 41cm rocking the scales at 1lbs 12oz plus a Dab and a Whiting
