Fishing and this forum

Post by Local/Brian »

I would just like to say thanks to others that have messaged me over retuning to Wirral sea fishing thank you  .
BUT AS I SAID IN A VIDEO ON MY CHANNEL/ now deleted no one person can make any sort of difference if others don't help and join in ???

Things like this forum will never go away ? it might slow down at times but then have new people coming into sea fishing and looking for information that's on this site in bucket loads . / I would also say people that are on other stuff and popular have in all probability learnt most of what they know from being on this Forum at some time .
Days before the internet where good because you had to fish and talk to others anglers face to face and if you got shirty or talking story time you probably got put in your place quickly by anglers with experience seeing right through it .

THIS IS NOT ME ME BEING ARSEY IN ANY WAY / its just the feedback i get all the time when fishing or speaking to other anglers
I am not the first to say this DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY members just look in as a guests and not comment or post
This site has always been interesting full of information and a provider of genuine help if you want it ? no matter who is posting regular on this site at anyone time .
My opinion is no one fisherman is any better than anyone else ? BUT SOME ANGLERS do look better than a lot of others because they spend a lot of time and do their homework gathering information that actually improves their fishing / JUST looking at a picture or a cryptic posts will not get you fish or improve your existing knowledge. You have to talk and ask questions .

No one should feel intimidated or awkward or shy about asking for help on anything / I myself have just done this recently over fishing for Blonde and Spotted Ray. Because just looking at a photo or watching videos dose not tell or give you the real information you need

I have done this over many years myself asking others and reading things or even just going to a beach and spending 3-4 hours watching the tide go out looking at how the tide flows and moves and what features it exposes and then gone back with that knowledge and fished it.

I now have success on them beaches that a lot of other anglers struggle on ??? because I have the knowledge and understanding to move with the tide and fish different features when fishing the EBB or the FLOOD that the fish follow or feed over.

Their are 2 reasons people are successful in fishing either just born lucky or spend time getting as much info as they can over things .
Knowledge will massively help anyone catch regular
Fishing should be about enjoyment /catching fish on a regular basis

Many thanks to anyone that has taken the time to read this Brian

Thanks Steve and Gary lets hope others do as well .
Nobody knows anything till someone tells or shows them so no shame what so every in asking questions or getting help from others.
If I dident do that myself I would be still fishing and never getting anything .

I can't say it enough times if you look in and its quiet YOU CAN CHANGE THAT by doing a post or reply to a post  YOU WILL ALL moan and complain
if its gone so DON'T WAIT TILL THAT HAPPENS.

Cheers Brian.

Sound words Brian....the site will never have the "active members",both in posting or fishing, like it did 20 years ago,but a lot of info is still on it (outdated as the venues section may be) which is very useful for those who need it,plus there`s fellas like you and the regulars on here who will help anyone in any way they can.I`ll keep posting my fishing/bait collecting sessions for anyone who wants to join me,and if anyone comes along then fine, but if not i wont be offended

Thanks Kev and all very true ? SHAME .
I first came on this forum late in my fishing life because I fished with a large group of knowledgeable and experienced older anglers sadly most are gone now.
when I did register on this site it was like cherry pie / could not believe how much information it had on fishing things and venues .
As for the venues being outdated as the saying goes you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink ???
Venues are just a guide  you should still look at a venue when arriving and check it out before fishing / as things can change over night ???

Even if the Wirral sea fishing is slow / I will hold my hands up and say if I was after information on anything in the Wirral and North Wales area then this would be the place to ask .

Cheers Brian
