We all got to our spots stretching nearly the full length of the beach and by 2pm everyone was ready and all in was called .
There were fish from the start with a few of us having fish on the first cast but mainly small whiting, it wasn't long before reports of something more decent had been landed and it turned out to be the master Roy Scofield who landed a decent Ray of 77cm setting the bar for the rest of us but he still needed a flat fish to go with it.
The weather was cold from the start with a cold wind but luckily we didn't see the rain that was forecast which would have made it very uncomfortable .
There was a steady flow of fish being caught through out mainly small whiting the odd decent fish in between with a couple more rays being landed and a few smaller fish which stood a chance of taking the smallest fish pool with the smallest so far sounding like a 16 cm fish so with only about 30 miniutes to go a few people decided to try for a smaller fish with Dale Edwards putting out small size 6 hooks in search of a tiddler only to outdone by Dave Robberts pulling in a double header of small fish of which one was a 12cm plaice caught on his micro size 2/0 hooks.
so as the clock struck 6 all in was called and we all headed back to the cars so while every one had a hot drink or some soup I sorted through the cards all 27 had carded a least one fish with just over half carding a flat and round combination so with all the results in everyone was ready for the presentation so the results were as follows
1st Roy Scofield with a ray and a dab for 103cm
2nd Dylan Kensal with a ray and a dab for 92cm
3rd Jonny kirkam with a ray and a dab for 88cm
4th Jon Walsh with 61 cm
5th Dave Lunt with 59cm
6th Lee Edwards with57cm
7th Dave Radclife with 56cm
8th Thomas Murphy with 53cm
8th Dale Edwards with 53cm
8th Dave Robberts with 53cm
Biggest fish went to Roy Scofied with his 77cm ray
Smallest fish went to Dave Robberts with his 12cm Plaice
All in all it was another great day with a few more new faces and returning anglers our next round sees us at the mersey road end of otterspool lets see if we can get 30 plus at this one. This match will also be our secret santa match so if everyone brings a gift preferably wrapped to go on the table that will be great .
