Hoylake 10/08/2024

Woke late to a (unless I’m mistaken) changed and favourable forecast so gathered my gear and set off for Hoylake. Planned to fish 3 hours up and a bit down - if the mood took me.

Although wind speed was less than forecast the sea still looked half decent



A few jellyfish around and patches of weed too.



About 1 hr 40 before high I got my first little bass.



These two followed - all before high water.





Stayed for about an hour and 30 mins down with no more interest and finished my bait off.

Quality lacking but happy enough to have had 3 of my target species.

Pint in the Green Man in the sunshine to top the day off - a good day.

Nice session Simon , Hoylake seems to be a pretty vast beach so looks like a good venue to fish with not as many dog walkers/swimmers etc

You’re right Steve. One other angler there when I arrived who left at high tide. Saw the odd dog walker in the distance but didn’t speak to anyone during my session. Makes a change from Formby - wherever I go, the swimmers always think it’s a good idea to swim right in front of me.
