slow Cymyran bay session

[Local/Brian]

Fished Friday night 9pm till 1.30am Target Small eyed ray and Thornback ray.

2 hours in to the flood and the dreaded red week was everywhere moved around 4-5 times trying to find a bit of rest bite from it but to no avail
Session was also very slow on the fish front with just 1 Thornback ray in the area of 3-4lb
Most cast's came back with either baits of all types untouched or covered in the red weed ? called it a night early as nothing was getting any better
So take it on the chin and move on hope next session is better.

Oh and just for information in my video of this session I show how you can get fresh Blow lug with out a spade/folk or bait pump.

Few pictures of a very pleasant and quite night with that Autumn chill starting now.

A work colleague of mine match course fishes and had matches all last week. He mentioned today that the variation up and down in air pressure dramatically stops the fish feeding??
I never really take the air pressure into account when fishing.
Love that venue though

I have other stuff that I have learned over the years especial how to plan my fishing sessions by looking at weather / wind / air pressure / tide time and size ? when I have all this I will then decide where and for what I will target.

But when ever anyone starts trying to explain this sort of stuff people just go and start say just go fishing and see what happens ?

the best advise I ever had regarding sea fishing was from an old chap from Anglesey that I used to deliver to , he told me to find 6 marks that you like and learn them , learn all their moods as far as tides and weather was concerned, and the seasons through the year, then once you have built up a fair bit of knowledge you can pick your mark with a bit more confidence for a session, and I must admit it has served me well although I rarely sea fish these days

Late to reply but that sounds like a very frustrating session Brian. I hate having to contend and deal with weed, especially when the action is thin on the ground.
