Vale Park HW
With the poll for the high water venue being decided as Vale park HW a 24 anglers turned up for this one so fairly high numbers considering there were a few regulars unable to attend including Mark and Dan so I’m doing a report in Marks absence.
Dave Rob kindly stepped in today to run the match on this one.
It’s a fairly even stretch with any peg producing fish on any given day.
All in was called at 12:30 and we decided on a 4.5hr match, HW was at 14:45.
The format was your best 2 of each species, longest fish and longest flat.
All in was called and I had a 25cm Plaice first cast so a positive start for everyone.
But unfortunately that’s the only fish caught in the match and HW was approaching. A couple decided to move left hoping the fish would come on the feed on the ebb. Bang on HW Jordan had a Topelet perfection in miniature
That gave us a bit of a boost in confidence but with still only 2 fish over the railings at this point.
With an hour of the match left we still hadn’t heard of any fish caught but as usual you never know until you get back to the way in and it was a still to play for until the last cast land the all out.
Scores on the door at the weigh in
1st Jordan 36cm Tope
2nd Don Ademson 34cm Plaice
3rd Richie 33cm Plaice
4th Dyl 25cm Plaice
5th John Waugh 22cm Flounder.
On to the next one this coming weekend Guinea Gap
