Take 2 - again the South Westerlies are quite persistent, last night looked like a window. Got to the beach about 9, could hear the sea from the car park...

Still a bit too many waves for my liking - water was gin clear. Low was just before 10, neap tide. Windy throughout, manageable from a casting/wading perspective but the sea didn't go down. Fished until just after 1, solitary doggie on the last chuck. Lots of different fish and squid combos tried.

Back to studying the weather forecasts and tide times - nothing looks great in the next week or two. I'm not sure neap tides are any good here (with my casting at least), wasn't able to get the baits into calm water at low as the tide didn't retreat enough to make the drop-off reachable, not enough water coming in on the flood to make the flooded part deep enough to settle the sea. Every day's a school day.

Keep at it you will get your reward as you learn.

This is not me being smug or clever / I have been saying for years the difference in catching and not catching is not down to Knowing a venue that produces the target fish your after or what wind direction .

It's all the other stuff that really matters. I have had a lot of stick going on about this over the years ? knowing What your target fish likes as in feeding conditions / area's they move around in and were to fish during the different stages of the tide . And how far you need to cast at different parts of the beach.

Once you understand all this sort of stuff rigs and baits and gear DON'T really play a part or matter .

You have 6 venues on that west side of Anglesey that produce and all 6 fish better in different conditions and tide size and small area's fish better than other parts of all the 6 venues .

To be honest Tyn Tywyn is probably the most hit and miss of all the 6 venues .

Cheers Brian. I would scroll through all fishing reports or google Small eyed ray fishing in Anglesey / No one is going to give other's information of any use ??? more just put you on a bum steer.

I'll be trying a different one of the beaches next time out, hopefully this year!
