another trip to rhoscolyn for me and jeff and this time he came with me. we met at the little chef on the A41 and had our breakfast. then it was of to rhoscolyn stopping of at colwyn bay pier for our bait and on to the spar in treaddur bay for some refreshments well a BLT and some water. we eventually arrived in the empty car park

and made our way to the mark. we fished the left hand side of the rock first and l was soon into my first fish a small ballan wrasse

then l was in again

and then another for me a 1lb 11 1/2oz ballan they were getting bigger

by this time jeff was getting fed up

so l moved to let have my spot and he was straight into a good wrasse the heavyest yet at 1lb 15oz which put the smile back on his face

we where both into ballan from after that and then l had a corkwing wrasse 4oz

then it was more ballen

and more

and then l had a 1lb 15oz ballan

and then another precious ballan for golem

a poor cod of 2oz was next for me

and more ballen for jeff

my last fish was my first tom pot blenny a beauty at 3oz

ther cute ar'nt they

we had to move around a lot and we lost some gear but we had a great day and lost count of the number of fish we caught and lost at this great venue.

l'm sure there are some bigger fish at this mark so l'm sure we will be back again

Good report and pics alan some good wrasse caught ahere you fishing on bottom or float fishing

or a mixture

may have to give this venue a go if i can find the time

99% of wrasse are caught within 5yds,but they know where their bolt holes are,so you often have to be quick to get them up in the water before they snag you up

I fell proper short at the last summer league match from not striking hard n fast I think. I was waiting for them to get hooked then reel them in, it work on the silly buggers but not the majority. I've never known a fish to rob you so fast! Once I thought they were on I'd try to "land" them only to find a submarine on the end cos they'd taken cover.

the bestway to catch them when you found them was to cast in the same place over and over again

and eventually you would hook them
